AMFIT
www.amfit.com
Amfit offers superior tools and faster services for effective patient treatment, with costs that make it profitable for your practice. At any volumes - large or small - we have equipment options that fit your fabrication needs, with products that support your treatment modalities.
The Contact Digitizer is a true 3-D scanner that accurately measures the contour of the plantar surface of the foot. Due to it’s superior casting abilities you are able to design a more effective orthotic, which provides better stability, enhanced performance and a reduction in injuries. That design can be sent to Amfit’s Central Fabrication Facility, but you also have the option of fabricating orthotics in your own lab. With the addition of the CAD/CAM Mill you can produce a finished pair of orthotics in less than one hour, at an incredibly low cost.
Amfit’s Central Fabrication Facility uses EVA, carbon fiber, and polypropylene materials, and manufactures orthotics for toe fillers, diabetic inserts, charcot, and functional or accommodative devices. Our lab boasts one of the fastest turnaround times and lowest costs, and accepts most casting methods: plaster cast, slipper cast, foam box, Digitizer, or Impress Scanner. |

Powerstep Pre-Fabricated Orthotics
www.powersteps.com
Dr. Les Appel, a podiatrist and owner of Stable Step, developed the first Powerstep prefabricated orthotic product in 1992. Over the years the company grew from Dr. Appel’s basement into a multi-million dollar business. The company now serves the retail market, emphasizing specialty business such as running stores, and the medical community, especially podiatrists. The key to the company’s success has been a combination of innovative products that are effective, creative marketing, and outstanding customer service.
The Powerstep line features medical-grade polypropylene supports, neutral forefoot/rearfoot posts and stabilizing heel cradles. These features provide first-line therapy for plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and other conditions, relieving heel and arch pain, as well as knee and lower back pain.
For the medical community, Powerstep offers the first line of affordable, prefabricated orthotics doctors are proud to prescribe. Over 4,000 medical professionals now prescribe Powerstep ProTech orthotics. The Powerstep ProTech products are sold exclusively by the medical profession and are not found in stores, catalogs or on Internet sites.
Retail stores throughout the United States offer the Powerstep line. Products include an ultra-cushioned version especially well suited for intense activity, a thin full-length edition for tighter fitting shoes, and a thin, ¾ length version that is popular for specialty athletic shoes.
The product’s packages are high quality and feature the phrase “The Podiatrist’s Prescription for Pain Relief”--a pre-emptive claim that supports the therapeutic benefits the products provide.
Stable Step takes great pride in the outstanding service offered customers: one of the company’s associates answers the phones personally; orders virtually always ship complete the same day they are received; and the company stands behind its products with a 100% money back guarantee. |

Tekscan
www.tekscan.com
F-Scan in Podiatric Sports Medicine
Clinicians face many obstacles when treating the athletic patient with lower extremity and foot injuries. Gait abnormalities, overuse injuries, and musculoskeletal pain are often difficult to diagnose and treat by just observation alone.
In-shoe pressure mapping and computerized gait analysis with Tekscan’s F-Scan system can pinpoint a problem that otherwise would be unseen by the naked eye. By assessing foot function and gait, clinicians can treat the athletic patient utilizing objective and quantifiable data to detect abnormalities in the gait cycle and reduce problem areas. Not only is the F-Scan an ideal diagnostic tool, but it can also be used to assess post-treatment foot function and confirm orthotic efficacy. The end result is an improved athletic performance and thus, a happier patient.
An un-tethered version of this system is available for use in applications where flexibility and mobility are a must such as running, soccer, baseball, basketball, walking, hockey, football, skiing, and golf.
About Tekscan
Established in 1987 and based in Boston, Tekscan is a leading manufacturer of force and pressure measurement systems that provide detailed and accurate data. In addition to in-shoe pressure mapping, Tekscan also manufactures systems that can be used for many other applications including barefoot analysis. |
